Fire At Will

Hail to the Interweb

Hello and welcome to my blog, I’d wave but you wouldn’t be able to see me and I’d feel stupid. Now, where to begin? Oh, I know some personal details, I’m Male, 25 years old, single and live somewhere in Darkest Scotland. I’ll be using this blog to post comments on my hobbies, interests and anything else I find fun, interesting, funny or any combination of the above.

So, hapless reader, what are these interests and hobbies of mine you ask yourself. Well you needn’t have asked for I’m about to tell you, whether or not you read any further is of course your own choice, but, if you don’t read on you’ll never know if I’m interesting or rather if anything I do is interesting and before I start gibbering heres the list.

  • I read a load of different books, Science fiction, fantasy, history, alternate history and the odd fiction book, mainly at work on my breaks but even so I can finsh a decent size novel in a week. Just finished Starwars;Tales from the Mos Eisly Cantina and am away to begin the Eisenhorn trilogy by Dan Abnett, full of intrigue, Inquisitors and demons.
  • Used to play a lot of computer games, not had the time recently, but when/if I have the time play a lot of different 1st person shooters, strategy or roleplaying games. Last game I played was Medieval total War 2; Kingdoms.
  • I also roleplay, either as Dungeon Master (some say Games Master, I don’t I’m different) or as a player. Our group all bought the new Dark heresy from Gamesworkshops Black Library and we’re all gearing up for some investigation, plot hammering and, seeing as I’ll be DMing, cool deaths.
  • Wargaming and all the other aspects of it, model building, painting, terrain building and now a little rules writing has been with me from the age of 8, okay it says on the packets do not sell these lead miniatures to under 12’s but I didn’t chew them so no damage done. I’m currently attempting to put together an 1815 French Napoleonic army and a British with allied Dutch-Belgian army for the same period. Also the rules I’m attempting to put together are for napoleonics specifically, more on those at a later date once there playtested a bit. And to finish a few pictures of my last 2 projects.

92nd Highlanders

The 92nd Highlanders in trews, please forgive the bits of glare, gloss/satin varnish dosen’t like a photo flash, the figures are Foundry and the flag you can barely see is one I made myself.

French foot Artillery

French Line Artillery from Perry miniatures, again please forgive the shiny bits. My next project, currently half-baked, is a squadron of British Heavy Dragoons, the 6th Inniskilling specifically.

And until next time avid readers a hearty farewell.
